Bio

From their formative years immersed in Bristol’s bass music scene, through fourteen years embedded in Berlin’s queer underground, to their current residency at FOLD in London, S Ruston’s practice has been shaped from inside the cultures they represent.

Across more than two decades behind the decks, they have moved through jungle, dubstep, techno and the wider UK bass continuum without losing the thread: broken rhythms, maximal energy and punk intent. Formerly resident at Renate, Else and Lecken, and tour DJ for Zebra Katz, S Ruston has performed in Berghain’s Säule and Glastonbury Festival to Shanghai and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate—adapting to the room without ever flattening their identity.
